bards on boats nautical life sessions on the canal

WELCOME TO THE NAUTICAL LIFE:

Learn to manage a canal boat!

Ever wonder what it’s like to live on a canal boat?

Our 2 1/2 hour-long “Nautical Life” sessions teach history, and practical skills including knot-tying, rope work, mooring, and how to steer a canal boat, along with boaters’ etiquette, the “secret handshake” that lets you pass in nautical society worldwide, but particularly in the serpentine neighbourhoods that are London’s canals.

Programs for both adults & children

Nautical Life sessions are a fun first step for anyone who’s flirted with the idea of trading their mortgage payment for a boat. They’re wildly popular with children as well, affording a chance to discover a world outside their door, one that offers vocational and training opportunities they can ply in marinas around the world.

Current Covid restrictions apply

Sessions are currently limited to family groups or others within the same “bubble”, maximum of 6 people, and are priced at £30/per adult and £15/per child. To arrange for your session, please email Captain Eric.
